Mental Health Awareness Month: Continuing Our Commitment at Gray West

May 1st marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Month. Gray West is no stranger to this awareness movement and ensuring our team members know they are not alone.

This year, we are building on that commitment by becoming an official sponsor of Construction Suicide Prevention Week. For us, this is not a new direction – it is a continuation of what we already believe and practice.

Gray West is proud to stand behind this movement as an extension of the same commitment we bring to our teams every day, and how we live our core values and honor everyone’s different voices, talents, and life experiences.

A Culture That Prioritizes Mental Health

Mental health has been part of our culture at Gray West for years. For years, we have provided an Employee Assistance Program that gives our team members confidential support and emergency resources whenever they need them.

We also keep mental health present in our ongoing conversations – whether during quarterly town halls or annual company meetings. It is something we believe should be talked about openly and consistently, not only when awareness campaigns come around.

On our job sites, our Superintendents help carry this forward every day by sharing mental health resources through signage and leading stand-downs focused on awareness, safety, and support.

The work is ongoing, and so is our commitment.

We are proud to support Construction Suicide Prevention Week because it aligns with what we already strive to live out as a company. This is not a beginning for us – it is a continuation and expansion of the responsibility we feel toward our people and our industry.
