GWC Completes Facility for SOS – Supporting Access to Quality Care for All

Gray West Construction is proud to announce the completion of a new medical office building for Share Ourselves (SOS), a mission-driven healthcare organization serving the Orange County community. This two-story, 11,196-square-foot project expands access to essential healthcare services for folks who may be experiencing homelessness or facing financial hardship. We’re honored to have helped bring this important vision to life.

Building a Space for Community Care
Located at 1650 Adams Avenue in Costa Mesa, the new facility offers a wide range of services designed to support patients holistically.
The first floor includes dental care, a pharmacy, an optical shop, and shared lobby and reception areas, along with public restrooms and comfortable waiting spaces.
On the second floor, patients will find a primary care clinic with multiple exam rooms, clinical support areas, and additional waiting space. A small basement area is used for operational support.
Outside the building, we completed new site grading, installed accessible parking signage, and updated curbs to meet ADA standards, making sure the facility is easy to access for all patients.

Built by a Team That Understands Healthcare
This was a complex project that required deep experience in healthcare construction. Our team brought extensive knowledge of large and specialized tenant improvements, which allowed us to navigate the challenges of design updates, code requirements, and coordination. While the journey wasn’t without its difficulties, our focus remained on delivering a quality space that meets both the technical and emotional needs of its users.

One of the most rewarding moments came during final turnover—seeing the facility come together with medical equipment installed and ready for patients made all the effort worth it.

Project Team: Jamie Sutherland (Program Manager), Antonio Carbajal (Project/Program Manager), Jeff Morris (Superintendent), and Roberto Jimenez (Project Engineer/Intern).
